Vegan Chocolate Flapjacks

Who says vegans only eat fruit and vegetables? We are allowed to spoil ourselves once in a while and make some delicious, relatively healthy breakfasts. One Sunday I decided to spice up my plain flapjack recipe and try something new with it, so I made it chocolate! I had recently found out that the Squillos hazelnut chocolate spread is Vegan, I was very excited because this is a really nice alternative for previous Nutella lovers! You can find this spread at any Spar store, I would highly recommend you try it ASAP! I thought this spread would go so well with the flapjacks, and I was right, thank goodness.

These flapjacks are very decadent and definitely a must on the try list! I would suggest topping it with chopped nuts, chocolate chips, the chocolate spread, maple syrup, pretty much anything you want!

Ingredients:

- 1 cup Flour
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1.5 Tbsp Baking powder
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- 2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 1-2 Tbsp Protein powder of choice (optional for a higher protein version)

Method:

1. Combine all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
2. Add the wet ingredients and mix well until there are no lumps.
3. Place 2-3 Tbsp of batter onto a hot non-stick or well-greased pan. Cook until it forms bubbles and then flip them over until they are slightly golden brown on each side.
